Biography:
Throughout her career, Bonnie E. Saltzman has maintained a strong interest in furthering the welfare of her fellow man and fostering her own level of competence in that endeavor. A native of Denver, Colorado, she began her undergraduate studies at Scripps College, continued at Oxford University and returned to Colorado to complete her B.A. in Sociology at Colorado College in 1984. She attended the University of Denver for graduate studies, receiving her Master's Degree in Social Work with an emphasis on children, youth and families in 1986 and J.D. in 1989. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1989.
Actively contributing to the community, Ms. Saltzman served on the Colorado Juvenile Counsel from 1987-1997 and has remained active in the organization from 2001 to the present. She also served on the Advisory Board, Colorado Department of Human Services from 1996-2000.
Ms. Saltzman’s professional memberships include the Arapahoe County Bar, the Denver County Bar, Colorado State Bar, and the Juvenile Law and Family Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association. Recently, she became a member of the Colorado Bar Association Youth at Risk Task Force. She is a member of the American Inns of Court (whose mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills) and has held the position of Treasurer at the Rhone-Brackett Inn, located in Denver, Colorado, from 2000 to the present.
Ms. Saltzman’s article, "What do They Think? The Delinquency Process as Viewed by the Youth," was published in the University of Denver Law Review in August 1992.
She established her private law practice in Colorado in 2001 and focuses on family law in the areas of divorce, adoption, stepparent adoption, child custody, child support, juvenile delinquency, juvenile, abuse, neglect, visitation, grandparent visitation and post-decree.
